Creating Impact Through Housing

Discover how CORT’s supportive landlord model builds strong communities and empowers tenants to rebuild their lives. Our supportive housing model helps people facing hardship, mental illness, or other trauma to rebuild their lives with dignity and care. A study conducted with Te Whatu Ora showed the impact clearly where hospital stays dropped by 92% after just one year in a CORT home. That’s over 33,000 fewer nights in hospital across five years.

Every dollar invested in CORT delivers $4.50 of measurable social good to Aotearoa.

This video shares the stories behind those numbers - real people, real change, and the power of community housing to transform lives.

We Believe in Community Housing

We believe that everyone has a right to a home to call their own. CORT is proud to be part of Aotearoa/New Zealand’s growing and vibrant community housing sector which plays a major role in making this a reality.

Community housing is not about building houses in isolation, it is about building resilient, cohesive and diverse neighbourhoods. To do this we focus on Partnerships with all of the stakeholders required to build great communities and increase housing supply. This includes tenants, whanau, neighbours, support agencies, other community housing providers, the private sector, local councils, and government.
